July 4th Celebrations

The following is an edited version of a letter which was recently sent to all Easthill Apartments residents. It is posted on this website (and only for a short time) for information only.

"We hope everyone has a happy and fun filled Fourth of July. Safety is always a big concern for us. The personal safety of our residents and the property is always high priority. There have been several large apartment fires over the past few years associated with the use of fireworks. Families were left homeless and property damage was extreme.

"The Kent police and fire departments take an active role in preventing the use of illegal fireworks in Kent, especially on and around July 4th and in areas of multi family housing. Residents are encouraged to contact the City of Kent, the local fire station or any public fireworks stand for more information on what is legal and what is not. It is against the law to set off illegal fireworks and can't and or to have them in your possession.

"With these things in mind please be reminded of the following.

"Easthill Apartments is private property. For the safety of our residents and the Easthill property we do not allow the use of any kind of fireworks anywhere on the property. This includes all legal fireworks poppers sparklers firecrackers etc. that are otherwise legal or permissible on public property. Easthill private property does include, but is not limited to, all driveways, parking areas, sidewalks and all roadways that enter into the property.

"For residents that wish to enjoy their own personal fireworks display, and the thrill of setting them off, we recommend doing so at any of the public parks in the area or other public areas.

"
As an alternative we highly recommend the fourth of July festivities and extraordinary fireworks display at the lake Meridian Park, one of the largest fireworks displays around. A program brochure for this event also accompanies of this letter.

"Thank you in advance for your cooperation in keeping this a safe and happy Fourth of July.
